Three Bears Cafe

Korean food is the most-wanted food recently. This cafe is located at Paskal Hyper Square, Bandung. The place is not too big, consists of 3 floors with cute bear wallpapers in each floor. Anyway, I love the fact that they have bright rooms so I can capture the photos more easily :)

In every table, there is a vase with pink daisy in it. So pretty!

Tofu Salad

IDR 20.000
The lettuce was fresh and the tofu was crunchy. The most appetizing is the dressing. It was sweet and a little bit sour but tasted so refreshing. My dad even became so curious and wanted to buy that kind of dressing.

Ramen Burger

Do you suddenly feel hungry when you see this picture? It is one of Three Bears' signature dish. It is a beef burger with eggs, nori, sesame, and some green vegetables. What make it special is the burger's bun made from noodles. The bun was crunchy but I think need more seasoning. The beef was soft and delicious. They serve this burger with potato chips and kind of sweet sauce in a small bowl. The chips was full of flavours, so click with the sauce.

IDR 36.000

Roasted Chicken Rice

IDR 37.000

This is their special Christmas menu. The rice was just plain white rice (which I expected was hainan rice). But fortunately the chicken was so juicy and tender and the sauce was so delicious. For the drink, we ordered orange juice and jasmine tea. The tea was reffilable and the juice was quite good as it was fresh sunkist juice.
IDR 26.000
Some people come here to try their famous Bing Soo, so I. Since I don't like green tea, so I tried another dessert which interest me : CHEESE!

Strawberry Cheesecake

IDR 42.000

It consists of ice crush, mochi, boba, milk pudding, strawberry chunks, nata de coco, tea jelly, and of course cheesecakes. So sad they only gave me 2 little cut of cheesecakes but it tasted good. My mom really loves the mochi and the taste of the strawberry syrup. The also served it with fresh milk so you can add it when you eat the dessert.

For those who like milk, another recommended menu is the Milk and Cookie Shot (IDR 17.000). It is cookies shaped like glass. You can pour milk into the cookie glass and drink from it. After that, you can it the cookie. Interested? Just come and taste it :)

Chung Gi Wa

I have known this restaurant from a long time ago but somehow always failed to come and have a try. In a rainy Friday, finally I could come to Chung Gi Wa. Words are not sufficient to express how happy I was :))) It is located near Maranatha Christian University. Once I entered the restaurant, I can feel the Korean atmoshere. The room was decorated with some paintings and in every table there is a grill with exhaust pipe to prevent the smoke from spreading within the room.

When my friend and I were seated, they served the side dishes and gave us a bottle of tea for free.

picked radish

eggplant

pumpkin

been sprouts

I have no idea what is this..

After having a look at the menu, we decided to order two kinds of meat :

Bulgogi

IDR 78.000

I love the taste, it was so click in my tongue. The beef was soft but still chewy, the broth was so tasty. Seriously I can just eat the broth with one bowl of rice, nyam~

Samgyeopsal

This pork belly is a must when you visit Korean restaurant. We usually eat it with lettuce, garlic, and a special sauce. When we ordered this, the waitress asked whether we want the pork being grilled in the kitchen or in front of us. We chose the later and here the piggy comes!
IDR 69.000
We were given 3 slices of pork and after it is cooked, the waitress will cut it into pieces so we could eat it easily. Can you look at the photo below? Everytime I see it, my stomach growls :))

The samgyeopsal was tasty and chewy but soft. At first I was afraid that there would be a lot of fat but when I ate the pork I enjoyed it so much. I couldn't stop eating it and I wished I had ordered two. Recommended!

Overall, I really enjoyed my lunch here. I am looking forward to coming back with my family. Note : the price is excluded 15,5% tax and service.

Cafe Halaman

Last Saturday I went to Paris Van Java and had a quick lunch at Cafe Halaman. I know this restaurant because they also have another branch near my campus. In PVJ, this restaurant is located in the outside of the building where almost all the restaurants in PVJ are located. They have indoor and outdoor area and I chose the indoor one because it was raining at that time. The interior of the restaurant is warm and cozy. They serve all kinds of food, from Indonesian until Western food. I read the menu and here are what we ordered :

Gado-gado

IDR 25.000

This dish interest me because it looks so yummy in the photo of the menu. When it came, I was a little disappointed as the vegetables were only cabbage and lettuce. It is also served with fried tofu and boiled egg. But the sauce was tasty.

Spaghetti Carbonara

IDR 37.000

At first I wanted to order fish and chips but they said it's sold out. Finally I chose pasta. The taste was good, but nothing special on it. I like the way they cut the smoke beef and their generousity in giving the cheese :D

Mie Goreng

This is the winner or today's lunch! The noodle looked like one famous instant noodle and it was so delicious. Plus, the portion was quite big for one person. Sorry I didn't take the photo of it.

Avocado Juice

IDR 25.000

I think they put too much water in the juice, I wish it was more thick. But I could still taste the avocado, fortunately.

Es Campur

IDR 25.000

I like this dessert! It contains avocado, coconut, 'cengkaleng', papaya, and watermelon. For me it is good and sweet enough to eat even in this rainy season. Recommended!

Overall, this restaurant has a nice food but a little expensive compared to the taste. I hope they can upgrade the quality of the food.

Fried Lasagna

Doesn't it look so yummy? I really really love this dish. It's simple and delicious. Moreover my friends told me that this taste good. You should, no, you must try and make it! As I am a pasta lover, and lasagna is one of my favorite dish. This time, I will share a recipe to make fried lasagna. I got this recipe from Unilever Food Solution (UFS) and did some modification. What is special about this dish is we make the lasagna layer by ourself. So here is the ingredients :

20 gr minced carrot
20 ml frying oil

Parit 9 Seafood

What do you think when you hear the word seafood? Personally, I will start thinking about sea, summer, coconut, and of course the seafood itself! Seafood has always been a good idea, isn't it?

Last Sunday, I visited a seafood restaurant near Riau named Parit Seafood. This resto is well-known with its crab, especially "Kepiting Termos". It is crabs packed in a thermos bottle to keep them warm. People usually send them as Christmas gift. Interested? Just try, you won't be disappointed :)

In Parit Seafood, we choose the fish, shrimps, and crab by ourself. They are fresh ingredient from the sea. We also choose the way they cook the seafood. There are a lot of varieties, such as grilled with soy sauce, sweet and sour sauce, oyster sauce, etc. For the squid we can ask them to make it crunchy or just cook it with margarine (I mean, goreng mentega).

So here are what we ordered :

Kepiting Saos Singapore

IDR 17.500 / ons

It is like chili crab made in Bandung and this is Parit's signature dish. I really love this dish, the flesh of the crabs were fresh, soft, and cooked perfectly. The sauce were really tasty and spicy but it could increase you appetite. If you like the crabs's eggs, you also can have it here. Btw, they provided you the tweezer so you can crack the crabs easily.

Kuwe Bakar Kecap

IDR 7.500 / ons
My mom chose kuwe because it has a lot of flesh and it doesn't have too many bones. The kuwe was grilled with sweet soy sauce and it has already split into two to make it easier to eat. The flesh was nice, thick, and soft but still chewy. Nice choice, mom.

Cumi goreng tepung

IDR 35.000 / portion
The squid was really crunchy, as for me it was kerupuk and not squid. The last time I went here I had fried squid with margarine and it taste a lot better than this.

Kangkung Cah Polos

IDR 15.000
In English, we call kangkung as water spinach. A lot of people like kangkung because it is affordable and easy to cook. Kangkung is my sister's favorite vegetable so we decided to eat this. The kangkung has a strong aroma of ginger but the taste was good. I wish they cut it shorter so it won't stuck within my throat :(

Oseng Genjer

IDR 15.000
Anybody knows what's genjer in English? Please let me know. The genjer was cooked nicely, taste good and still crunchy as I expected.

Note : I didn't order any drink because they give free hot tea and reffilable as much as you want.

Overall, I really like this seafood restaurant. It has a nice place, nice service, and tasty food with affordable price. I am looking forward to coming back here and try another dishes. When you are craving for seafood, this could be the one.

Fat Dragon & Belle Vue

I always intend to try this bakery store, but somehow I always fail to do it. Last Sunday, finally my dream came true! Belle Vue and Fat Dragon are two different food stores owned by G.H. Universal (a hotel located in Setiabudi, Bandung). Belle Vue is a bakery store, while Fat Dragon is a Chinese Food Restaurant.

It was still too early for lunch but I went straight there and seated in Fat Dargon which is located in the second floor. I like the design of the place, simple yet elegant.

For the appetizer, we ordered dimsum. They have a lot of options for the dimsum.

Hakau

IDR 17.500

The shrimp was fresh but the skin was too wet so it was broken easily and made it hard to eat the hakau.

Ayam Hongkong 1/4

IDR 35.000

The chicken was too dry but seasoned well enough.

Nasi Hainan

IDR 7.500
The rice was soft and it has a strong taste of chicken broth. I like the texture of the rice.

Iced Lemon Tea

IDR 15.000

The lemon tea was too sour until I have to asked for sugar. But it is really big and really worth the price. Recommended!

Starfruit juice

IDR 17.500

I don't like starfruit but I tried this and it is good. It is refreshing, made from real starfruit.
They also have many kinds of chili oil and chili sauce.

There is always room for dessert, of course. After finished having my lunch, I went downstair to pick a dessert.

Lemon Meringue Pie

IDR 30.000

It was about 9 cm in diameter. It tasted really good! I love the crunchiness of the pie, the sweetness from the meringue, and the sourness from the lemon within the pie. You have to eat the 3 elements all together to fell the unique sensation of the dessert. Two thumbs up! I even bought one home.

Anyway, Belle Vue has special promotion for their bakeries. Everyday after 6 pm, they give promo buy one get one free for pastry.

Kedai Mamah Eha

Anybody loves mango sticky rice? Well, know you can get it in Bandung!
I visited this resto a couple months ago (sorry for the super-late-post) with my college friends as it is located near my campus. Actually, Kedai Mamah Eha has a lot variety of desserts but they also has Indonesian food as a main course.

My apologies, I forgot to take pictures of some food we ordered and their names. But I still remembered the ingredients, the taste, and the price so you can look up the photos in google or their book menu later.

Pulut Mangga

IDR 30.000

It is fresh mangoes with sticky rice (ketan in Indonesian) with sweet coconut milk. The mangoes were a little bit sour but went really good with the sticky rice and the coconut milk. The texture of the sticky rice is sooo good for me because it doesn't stick in your teeth but it doesn't scatter either. This is their special menu as I think they imitate the mango sticky rice from Thailand. The portion for me is a little bit too much for a dessert but it is still okay.

Alpukat

IDR 33.000

If you love avocado, I think you will like this dessert. It is avocado with milk powder and ice. Can you imagine how sweet it will be? Yeah, it was really sweet and it made you full just by eating it alone. I think it is too expensive for this kind of dessert (I will show you another place serve this kind of dessert later!).

Fruit Yoghurt

Another dessert, yoghurt with fresh fruits served in a bowl. The yoghurt was nice, not too sour and not too viscous. It cost IDR 26.000.

Nasi Goreng

I forgot the name, but it was the simplest fried rice I have ever had. Uhm, even I don't really sure it was a fried rice. It was rice cooked with butter and served with or without egg (depends on what you order). It was IDR 13.000 if I am not mistaken for fried rice without egg and IDR 15.000 for fried rice with egg.

Overall, the dessert was nice but the main course needs some improvement.

Dezato

Recently, there have been so much dessert shops in town. All the desserts they offer are almost the same. They serve pudding, red bean, mochi, Q-ball, grass jelly, and ice cream in a bowl. This dessert shop has been opened for quite some time in Bandung, and finally I have the chance to try their dessert. I just tried one kind of their specialities because my friend and I were in a hurry at that time.

Dezato is located next to Crumble and Bites (which I reviewed before). It has a larger and brighter room, decorated with some paintings . We came to the cashier to order and picked up a seat. Fyi, they provide not only desserts in a bowl but also smoothies, bubble tea, and light meal such as french fries, crispy chicken (like Shihlin's), etc.

Dezato is well known of its Kumatella Set which is Nutella, Choco Rock, Peanut, Oreo, and Ice cream. But unfortunately I don't really like chocolate so I decided to have Tanuki Set, the most complete dessert they have. It consists of grass jelly, pearl, Q-ball, mochi, red bean, milk, and a scoop of ice cream (green tea / vanilla). You can change the milk into soya milk if you want to.

IDR 34.000

For me, the taste of the dessert is nice and refreshing but nothing special on it. The appereance of the dessert was so-so, but the service was great. I love the way they served the sugar separately, so we can add it only if we want to.
